Maral & Mariano are leading Argentine Tango professionals in London and recently expanded to Rotterdam. They are experienced senior teachers (Maral in her 11th teaching year). Together, they give life to a rich, vivid and spontaneous improvised dance, that is characterised by creative fluidity, musical sensitivity and is simply presence inspiring.
A genuine couple in life and dance, Maral (British) and Mariano (Argentine) are a perfect blend of the best of both world when it comes to quality and authenticity in teaching and style with international teaching experience in London, Buenos Aires, Paris, New York, Berlin, Amsterdam, Montreal, Toronto and more.
Maral and Mariano have a unique and powerful combination; between them they have deep knowledge, skill and extensive professional experience with dance (Maral has dance qualifications), body awareness (Mariano is an Alexander Technique Teacher and Maral has danced many different dance forms), tango music (Mariano was a professional well-known Tango violinist) and cultural understanding (Mariano is from Buenos Aires, the home of Tango and Maral has a masters in Anthropology and lived and worked with tango in Buenos Aires for 7 years).
Maral & Mariano have taken the decision to stop touring because they believe in committing to the teacher/student relationship as they know the importance of providing regular and consistent instruction for the development of their students and development of the level of Tango in London.
Maral & Mariano run the very successful yet unpretentious Tango Garden.
Maral & Mariano's students are convinced by their own research that they are learning from one of the finest professional tango couples who do not only teach but are active in the wider dance, arts and entertainment world; be it training celebrities, performing in prestigious venues such as the Royal Academy of Music, appearing on the cover of a leading UK dance magazines etc...
