BEGINNER - IMPROVER (LEVELS 1 - 3)
Argentine Tango is a beautiful journey of creation and expression and like many a journey, it starts with a walk, a walk that we take with a dance partner…
In our Argentine Tango classes for beginners to improvers, we cover all the important elements to get you started on this journey. We begin by understanding the connection required to communicate non-verbally in the dance. We study technique and important structures to see how it all works. We cover many basic steps and learn to improvise with the steps we have. We also familiarise ourselves with different tango music rhythms (e.g. Tango, Vals & Milonga) so we can begin to dance in the milonga (the tango dance space) with different dance partners. Come alone or with a partner. See FAQs for information about group lesson structure, what to expect from a lesson, dress, partners and answers to other questions you may have. |
UPPER IMPROVER - INTERMEDIATE (LEVELS 3 - 5)
Improver to intermediate level classes are designed to have you understand how things work in Argentine Tango, so you don't have to memorise steps or figures to dance.
We work on strengthening tango technique with exercises at the start of each lesson. We put a great deal of emphasis on connection and communication, the use and direction of energy and how to allow the dance to happen between two, without force. We explore close and open embrace during all our classes and discuss different styles, so that you can be versatile and more able to enjoy dancing with different people. We highly recommend that improvers take the 2-3pm improver level class at Tango Garden to strengthen their skills, ease their experience in the intermediate level lesson and help with rapid development. Come alone or with a partner. See FAQ for information about the cabeceo, the line of dance, group lesson structure, what to expect from a lesson and other questions you may have. |
